Mr. Charles Moss, a prominent Freeport architect and Mr. Richard Roth, FAIA, RIBA, one of the world’s foremost architects and President of the Richard Roth Consulting Group, Ltd; and Chairman Emeritus of the Emery Roth & Sons Architectural Firm have jointly announced their operational association effective immediately.
The new association makes the Moss firm one of the most prestigious in the Caribbean and allows it the opportunity to draw on the expertise of one of the world’s most respected architectural groups. Administrative and design offices are located in the old CitiBank building in the Freeport’s central business district.Mr. Moss has practiced in Grand Bahama for more than twenty years and was responsible for the design and execution of many important business buildings and luxury residences in Freeport.
Mr. Moss was educated at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He founded the architectural firm of Charles J. Moss & Associates in 1979. Before opening his firm he was assistant town planner and architect at the multi-million dollar Grand Bahama Port Authority planning department. Among his recent architectural achievements in Grand Bahama are Silver Cove Health Spa, The Holistic Health World, Hillside Investment Center and the Lucayan Medical Center East.
Mr. Roth received his education at Miami University, Oxford; Ohio and the Art Students League, New York City. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He was the president, CEO and chairman of Emery Roth & Sons, an international architectural firm based in New York City with offices in London, Budapest, Singapore, Hong Kong and China from 1974 thru 1993.
According to a world architectural survey of the top practices in the world the firm is currently ranked the 34th best architectural practice in the world. During his 37 years of practice he has designed and seen, constructed projects throughout the world. These have included the World Trade Centers in New York and Beijing, The Citicorp Center in New York; over 10,000 units of luxury housing, and over 5,000 hotel rooms including the Palace and Regency hotels in New York and the Shangri-la World Trade Center in Beijing.
